NextGen Fitness: Building Strength and Functional Movement for Teens
- At Fitness Inc., we believe that the programs we create are the clearest representation of our philosophy on fitness and functional training. Our new teen program, NextGen Fitness, is designed to develop well-rounded, functional strength through innovative training methods that go beyond traditional workouts.
Our Philosophy
Many programs claim to be functional by focusing on basic movements like squats, deadlifts, and presses. While these exercises are essential, they don’t fully address the complexity of the body’s movement patterns. True functional training considers how the body moves as an interconnected system, involving chains of muscles that work together, not in isolation.
We emphasize a deeper understanding of movement patterns, focusing on improving intermuscular coordination and enhancing how muscles work together to produce force, stability, and speed. This approach is particularly important for teens, as they develop their strength and movement efficiency.
Advanced Functional Training Techniques
Our training doesn’t stop at the basics. In NextGen Fitness, we go beyond the usual movement patterns like squats, lunges, and pushes. We focus on the body’s sling systems, which are groups of muscles and fascia that coordinate movement across the body.
- Anterior Oblique System: Involves the coordination between the obliques and the adductors, essential for walking, running, and stabilizing movements.
- Posterior Oblique System: Focuses on the latissimus dorsi and the glutes, enhancing power and movement efficiency.
- Deep Longitudinal System: Supports the body’s ability to transfer force through the spine and legs.
- Lateral System: Engages the glutes and opposing adductors for stability and movement control.
Our program incorporates dynamic, movement-focused workouts that challenge the body’s natural systems to promote stability and coordination. These exercises are designed to enhance reflexive strength, improving how the body moves in various environments, both during training and in daily activities. By emphasizing fluid, functional movement, we help participants build a stronger, more adaptable foundation for long-term health and performance.
Why it Matters for Teens
For teens, developing functional strength is crucial not only for athletic performance but also for injury prevention and overall movement health. Our program builds strength from the inside out, ensuring that each participant develops a well-rounded fitness foundation that will benefit them in sports and daily life.
NextGen Fitness teaches teens how to move better, perform better, and stay injury-free by focusing on integrated, functional movement. This is more than just lifting weights – it’s about developing the strength to succeed, both now and in the future.
